HS2 Grants

Caroline Superman wrote to inform that there are grants available to parishes affected by HS2. There are two funds: Community & Environment (CEF) and Business & Local Economy (BLEF). The sums are large (£75k-£1m); however, there are examples of smaller amounts being granted for resident engagement on environmental matters; children's safety; rising damp in village halls and toilets in churches and repairs to old buildings and monuments.

St Swithens and Barston Memorial Hall come to mind immediately; however, parishioners might have other community initiatives that would qualify. HS2funds@groundwork.org.uk @ www.groundwork.org.uk/Sites/hs2funds
